One day stretches into two... three... days

I woke up shortly before 9 a.m. Wednesday morning. I spent the day doing the funeral thing with friends. About 4 p.m., I made the trip back to Oakdale and spent the rest of my waking hours working on the newspaper... By saying "the rest of my waking hours," I'm talking about from 6 p.m. until almost 6 a.m. Thursday morning. After only an hour and a half of sleep, I was back in the saddle and off to my 8 a.m. class. With the exception of a two hour nap Thursday afternoon, I stayed busy the rest of the day and the night. For me, Wednesday and Thursday joined forces to create one especially long day. It's almost 4 a.m. now and I'm just now reaching the point of exhaustion. That's crazy. I should have been in bed long ago... but the body was still going. It didn't want to shut down. And when your body wants something, doesn't it usually get it one way or another?

I need to remember how crappy it feels to get so little sleep. I need to not spend so much time working at a newspaper that I'm no longer in charge of. I need to be in bed instead of writing a silly LJ entry.
