Tonight, I've spent my Christmas Eve with my other family -- the members of Engine 1's C-Shift. Although it's been a different experience, there's still a bit of magic... And it's certainly been a lot of fun.
We caught a couple of runs early in the day before official nap time and offical XBox time. One of communications folks brought us spaghetti. The local Subway brought us a sandwhich platter. Some nice lady brought us a tray of fresh-baked cinnamon rolls. One of our volunteers brought us another box of sweets. And I cooked my not-so-famous meat loaf. It's probably good that we haven't caught an alarm since the eating started.
Tonight, we attended church as a company, engaged the cops in a ping-pong tournament in the apparatus bay and watched UCF lose their bowl by a friggin' extra point. Now, the other two are in bed and now that I've finished writing my reports, I'll join them soon.
I hope that wherever you are tonight and whoever you are with, you're having a special night, too.
Merry Christmas to all of you... Even the ones celebrating Winter Solstice. ;-)
