7-1 | Alcohol + Lyrics = Momentary Lapse of Contentment

You've got your ball, you've got your chain
tied to me tight, tie me up again
Whose got their claws in you my friend
Into your heart I'll beat again
Sweet like candy to my soul
Sweet you rock and sweet you roll
Lost for you I'm so lost for you
You come crash into me
And I come into you

:-)

It took until I was in college before I understood those lyrics, because I'm so clueless. :-)

That's what college is for, eh? ;-)

I suppose :-)

But really, it's a little embarrassing that it took me 5-7 years to get that it was a dirty song ;-)

Not dirty really. More sensual.

Fair enough, but I just remember being completely shocked by finally understanding the use of the word come in the lyrics! :-) But let's not talk about how dumb I was that I didn't get that - I mean, it's not even a double entendre or anything, it's all just right out there.

Perpetual naïveté can be dangerous... but you grew out of it, so it's all good! Heh. A little innocence is probably a good thing. I sometimes feel like I went straight from innocent to filthy. Don't get me wrong -- filthy can be lots of fun. But the older I get, the more I appreciate those on the other side of the fence, too. And that's what I like about this song. It spell things out pretty clearly... but in a way that's not vulgar. You could let it mean something else if you want.

Happily bound to another person, wonderful image.

How's your head this morning?

I don't know where my head was. I had a couple of cocktails, listened to some tunes and -- poof -- I was in a happy place. It's not that I'm not in a happy place the rest of the time... But something clicked inside. It felt like my chi was centered. I used to have more of those moments... that's when I actually wrote. Felt good.
