WNL-XXII: "From the lobby of the hotel, I caught her perfume from the bar"

Prologue or no prolouge... these fit this week perfectly for so many reasons. They even mention a trip to California. Heh.
I broke another heart in Texas
The midnight sky was closing in
Stars all point to California
I don't know where I am
And I don't really care

Louisiana gave me no direction
So I pointed to the sun and drove away
The last thing I remember I was thinking
Of all the reasons
I can't stay here

From the lobby of the hotel
I caught her perfume from the bar
But the lipstick was a stranger's
She don't know where I am
And she don't really care

Louisiana gave me no direction
So I pointed to the sun and drove away
The last thing I remember I was thinking
Of all the reasons
I can't stay here

No I can't stay here

I can't stay here

I've got to save my reputation
I've worn out my welcome here
Back on the road to California
I don't know where I am
And I don't really care

Louisiana gave me no direction
So I pointed to the sun and I drove away
The last thing I remember I was thinking
Of all the reasons
I can't stay...

Louisiana gave me no direction
So I pointed to the sun and I drove away
The last thing I remember I was thinking
Of all the reasons
I can't stay here
